World Freestyle Traditional Open

Junior and Senior

This section in the World's is a true Traditional first time World Rock'n'Roll feel.

This event is a (no jump, no prop or drops) section. To enter this section a Junior should be 17yrs & under, Senior 18yrs & over. Junior's can take advantage of the 3 year waiver as long as one partner is of age. All songs for this event will be medium fast (160 to 175) beats per minute, dancers will dance to ONE SONG ONLY for heats & finals. Each year, as for 2004 a CD will be made available for Competitors to purchase with 15 song tracks to practice to, these songs will be used, and chosen at random on the day of Competition.

This section is a Major section at the World's and will carry the same acilades as all our Open events with prize money.

Dress code for this section will be the same as all No jumps sections ( rule 5.7). keeping to the feel of the 50's 60's we have introducd a trophy in this event only for the Best Dressed Junior & Senior couple,

What will Judges be looking for: Timing, Harmony & Variety as well as the feel of the dance & the performance must be of the 50's 60's era.
